TOPIC: KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

Text: ‘That i may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death’. Philippians 3:10

            In Matthew 22:29, the Lord Jesus said, ‘Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God’. He is letting us know that the reason people make mistakes and wrong choices is because they are ignorant of God’s word. That means they lack the knowledge of what the Spirit of God can do through the power of God’s word in their lives.

No wonder Hosea 4:6 says, ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge’. Proverbs 11:9 says,  ‘... through knowledge shall the just be delivered’. This simply implies that what you know is what will put you over in life. That is what will give you the advantage. Your challenge is not the problem, but what you don’t know. Through knowledge shall you be delivered into your inheritance. The Bible says, ‘Then shall we know, if we follow on to know’ (Hosea 6:3). Your ability to live a victorious, joyous and prosperous life is dependent of how much of God’s word you have programmed into your spirit, so go for knowledge and be a word-addict (John 1:1, Daniel 9:2, 2Timothy 4:13). You must have a burning desire for the knowledge of God’s word. Study the Bible voraciously (2Timothy 2:15) and cultivate the habit of acquiring good Christian tapes and books that will aid your spiritual growth.
