DATE: SUNDAY 25TH JUNE, 2017.
TODAY’S READING: GAL. 2:1-21
TOPIC: IT TAKES GOD
SCRIPTURE: “I returned, and saw under
the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,
neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet
favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11.
The earlier you swallow this truth
that it takes God to run this Christian race successfully, the better for you.
Pride makes many not to yield to God and they suffer greatly for it. When you
surrender all Him, your present and future, He will pilot the affairs of your
life.
Your dependence on Him is what makes your effort count otherwise it will
all be vanity upon vanity. To any rational mind, this is a hard pill to swallow
because we have been trained to be independent and to stand on our own. Being
independent is a great virtue, but we must never count God as part of those we
can be independent of. Nobody can live independent of God and be what he or she
was originally designed to be. Some believers are in debt because they left God
outside their decisions to start certain trade or invest in certain businesses.
Some others because of the spirit of competition and envy that has possessed
them in trying to be like others, go to any length to seek loans that has
perverted their destinies. No matter you’re your dreams and to do of His good
pleasure Philippians 3:13.
I pray for you, wherever those
self-centered with empty pride are mentioned, you will not be among them.
PRAYER POINT:
My Father, my God, as I pray, I disconnect myself from
being independent of you.
