TODAY’S
READING: Gen 25:7-26
TOPIC: ARE YOU PREPARED? 1
SCRIPTURAL
READING: “For
yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the
night. For when they shall say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction
cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
1Thessalonians 5:2
Every events of life
requires preparation. Poor preparation will yield poor performance. Whatever
you do not prepare for you cannot embrace. Before a man and a woman embark on
the journey of marriage, they prepare for it.
Many get prepared for their
marriage even before they find Master or Miss Right. People get prepared for a
journey days before the appointed date to travel. It is so unfortunate that we
get prepared for the things that satisfy our fleshy desire while we neglect
preparation for the safety of our soul. For what it profit a man, if he shall
gain the whole world and lose his own soul? (Mark 8: 36).
Many spend time,
money, strength to prepare for parties, clubs, political meetings, travelling
abroad for vacation, wedding ceremony, birthday parties, burial ceremony, etc.
Are you prepared for the return of Jesus Christ? How prepared are you? Will he
meet you ready? You might not have thought of this before. This is an
opportunity to look inward and be sincere to yourself. If truly you are
prepared.
Prayer:
My Father, my God, as I
pray now, may the grace to ever live prepared rest on me by fire.
