TOPIC: ARE YOU PREPARED? 1

SCRIPTURAL READING: “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 1Thessalonians 5:2

When he shall appear, only the prepared church will be with Him. Remember; the church is not the building, is not the entire multitude that gather to worship in a service. The church is the body of Christ Jesus.

Those who have received and believed in His name and are also doing the will of God. Jesus said not everyone that call him Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but those who does the will of the Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:21). This implies that, being a member of a church is not a qualification for heaven.

You can be a chorister, prayer band member, usher, deacon and deaconess yet you are not a member of the body of Christ. Some who are true members of the body of Jesus might miss being with him when he returns due to their nonchalant attitude towards their relationship with God. Revelation 2:16 says “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, i will spill thee out of my mouth.”

To be prepared for the Lord’s return, you must be born again (John 3:5) and you must abide in Christ (John 15:1-4).

My Father, My Father, as I pray, help me to be live prepared for thy second coming.
