TOPIC: MISSING OUT ON GOD'S BLESSINGS?
TEXT: Romans 8:38-39 (KJV) "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
A story was told of a man sometime ago who was eating at a Maxican fast-food restaurant. As he stood in line for service he noticed in front of him a very poor lady who looked like a street person. He concluded this because she was carrying a grocery bag filled to the top with what looked like all of her possessions in the world.
When it was her turn to order, she asked for a drink of water and one taco. He couldn't help but observe her and be moved with compassion for her. Shortly after, he began his meal; he walked over to her and asked if he could buy more food for her to eat. She looked at him and angrily said, "who are you?" "Just a guy who wants to help" he responded. She ignored him, so he sat back down in his booth. They both finish their meals and got up to leave at about the same time. As she began to walk out of the restaurant, the man followed her because he felt led to give her some money. In the parking lot, when he approached and offered her some cash, her only response was, "stop bothering me!" then she stormed off. That's the way many of us respond to God in our daily life. God is up in heaven wanting to pour out a blessing and we respond by saying, "who are you? What do you want from me?" the Lord continues to bless us despite our refusal of him and His gift. It isn't the absence of problems that gives us peace, Romans 8:31, it's God who is with us in the problem.
PRAYER
Lord, may I not miss your blessing for my life...
